Mrs. Valerie Watson died Wednesday, June 5th, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was married to her best friend, Mr. David Watson, for 23 years. They shared a bond that is irreplaceable.

Mrs. Watson was born in Thomasville, NC February 1, 1966, to George and Sally (Ettson) Baucom.

"Renee" as she was also known as, was educated in the Bridgeport School System and graduated from Central High School. Shortly after, she moved to Waterbury and pursued a career in nursing. She worked at Beacon Brooke Health Center for 15 years. Valerie attended Community Tabernacle Outreach Center where she faithfully served the Lord for 25 years and enjoyed singing in the choir. Her favorite song was "He's an on time God". "Renee" loved her family, get together with family, shopping, playing cards, and most of all she loved the Lord. Valerie was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis over 20 years ago. Even though she only lived to see 53, she lived life an enjoyed every moment of it. She fought a good fight and never let the diagnosis rob her for who she was.

Besides her husband of 23 years, David and parents George and Sally, she leaves to cherish her memories her 3 daughters; Tyeisha, Markiea, Ra'Zhanay, one son; David Jr., all of Waterbury, her sister Tracy Baucom of Waterbury her best friend Carolyn Wright, her best friend from childhood Wanda Taylor, two grandsons JaTyi and Chance Baucom, her favorite aunt Georgetta Ferguson of South Carolina, nephews Richard and Rashime Ettson, both of Waterbury, a niece Nikita Baucom and Timothy Minnifield both of Waterbury, whom she raised as her own, a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by a sister Georgette Ettson and a brother Greg Baucom.
