Mr. Universal Zequan Yancey, 30, of Waterbury, entered into eternal rest, unexpectedly, on Monday, September 30, 2019.

Mr. Yancey was born on May 1, 1989, in New Haven, CT to Denise Haynes of New Haven, CT and the late Universal Yancey.

"UV" as he was also known as, was educated in the New Haven Public School system. After high school, he obtained his Class-A CDL from New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTS) and enjoyed traveling and took great pride in being a trucker at Bozzuto's Inc., where he worked, until his passing. UV had a passion for making music and listening to the artistry of his favorite lyricists; Nas and DMX. He was a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan and also loved basketball and was, in fact, very skilled on the court. He was known for being, in his own words, "a King", a man who had a heart of armor. His desire was to bring his family closer together and it was something he wanted more than anything. Universal "UV" was known for his bright smile, strength, and positivity which impacted everyone around him. More importantly, he had a great love for his family, especially his children, and his friends. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

Besides his mother, he leaves behind to continue his legacy his two daughters, Uniyah Love Yancey, and Maliyah True Yancey, and a son Infinite King Yancey, all of Bridgeport, CT, his maternal grandparents, Justine and Otis Haynes of Georgetown, SC, four sisters; Timeka (Tyrell) Knighten of Wallingford, CT, Shaniqua Yancey and fiance' Talkeysha Martin of New Haven, CT, Empriss Yancey of Vernon, CT, and Taquasia Yancey of Hamden, CT, two brothers; Malik Yancey of Waterbury, CT and Khalil Yancey of Hamden, CT; three nieces, three nephews who all cherished him deeply, his godmother Danielle Hall of New Haven, CT, a host of aunts, uncles, and great cousins.

Besides his father Universal Yancey, he was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Priscilla O'Neil, paternal grandparents Howard and Ethel Yancey.
