Ms. Shirley Lenette Knight, 80, of Hamden, passed away, Friday, November 22, 2019 at Cheshire Regional Rehabilitation Center.

Ms. Knight was born August 1, 1939 in Waterbury a daughter to the late Fragher and Geneva (Dildy) Knight.

Shirley was a graduate of Walsh School, Wilby High School Class of 1957 and Post Junior College Class of 1961. She was a long time member of the Church of God in Christ. Shirley was a Federal Employee where she worked for the Department of Social Security Office for over 45 years until her retirement. After her retirement she volunteered at Branford Hospice, Big Brother, Big Sister Program, Yates International Host Program and the Connecticut Citizens of Action Group. She enjoyed helping people by any means necessary through her job, volunteering and life connections. She loved being informed in sports and politics.

She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Geraldine (Knight) Weaver, nieces and nephews, Tyrone, Denise and Deirdre Patterson, Michelle, Alexis, Kimberly, Sheila and Damien Weaver, several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
