Ms. Pattie Viola Dozier, 82, returned home to her heavenly father on the early morning of January 6, 2017 after a long battle with illness's with her family by her side. Her devotion to God and her faith guided her through many of life's trials and tribulations. Her favorite quote was "Have faith as a grain of a mustard seed." Her favorite songs were "God is a good God" and "Faith, Faith, Faith just a little bit of faith, "What you waiting for, waiting for the trumpet to sound."

Pattie was born in Raleigh, NC on April 8, 1934 to the late Kirthmon Dozier Sr. and Mrs. Bessie Dozier Riddick. Pattie was a devoted and active member of New Bethel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder C.C. Brown and Pastor Henry N. White. She served as an Evangelist, Member of the Mother's Board, Youth choir director, Usher Board, Senior choir, Gospel chorus, President of Prayer and Bible Band. She worked as a cook at DHS, she also was a security guard. She loved to cook for her family homemade pies, biscuits and cakes. She was a mother to many in the Danbury community. She was known as the hat lady of Danbury. Her home became a home for many who were blessed by her love. She loved God and the ministry were outstanding. She was known for visiting the sick on her scooter in the hospital and convalescent homes. She will be greatly missed by her family and the Danbury community.

Pattie is survived by 3 daughters Christine, Barbara, and Shekila Crews, one daughter in law Lesha Crews, 2 sons Michael and Colby, all of Danbury, CT. Sisters Delores Harris of Danbury and Rosabelle Thornton of Raleigh, NC. She is predeceased in death by her husband Samuel Sr. and son Samuel Crews Jr., sisters Mable Vance and Ella Mae Ashe, and brother Kirthmon Dozier Jr. Pattie is also survived by her grandchildren Nakeya, Sparkle, Sherri Purvis, Brenda and Belinda Thomas, Salina, Lori, Shiouvhaun, Shakita, Samuel Crews III, all of Danbury, CT. Kirsten Crews of Orlando Florida, Charmell Griffis of Raleigh N.C., Dinaja and Daija Starks of Waterbury, CT. Pattie also has eleven great-grand and two great- great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
