Mr. Muhammad Sharif Ibn Imam Muhammad Abdul-Malik, 41, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.

Mr. Abdul-Malik was born June 24, 1978 in Brooklyn, NY, a son to the late Muhammad and Najma (Barbara Hutchinson) Abdul-Malik.

"Sharif", as he was also known as, was educated by his parents and in the Public School Systems of Coney Island, and Waterbury, Connecticut. As a youth, he owned reptiles and a beloved pit bull named Co-Co. Sharif achieved peace and tranquility as he found release from the concerns of this world, by raising his beloved children, writing, and performing rap songs, keeping family ties, and attending United Muslim Masjid in Waterbury. His courage in the face of tremendous adversity and his will to endure despite life's burdens will leave a lasting effect in our hearts forever. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Sharif leaves behind four children; Tyannah Sharece Abdul-Malik, Shinice Nicole Abdul-Malik, Muhammad Sharif Ibn Imam Muhammad Abdul-Malik, Shaniyha Sad'e Abdul-Mailik, and stepson Travis Wroten, 21 siblings; Samantha Farmer, Michael Hutchinson, Victoria Hutchinson, Khym Timmons, Sauda Bent Abdul-Malik, Khadafy Abdul-Malik, Ali Saud Abdul-Malik, Maryam Abdul-Malik, Nafeesa Abdul-Malik, Osetta King, and Amera Jones, the mother of his children; Merari Martinez and Alisa Alves, four uncles; Khalil King, Ali Abdul-Malik, Michael Thomas and William Gregory (Idris)Thomas, four aunts; Susan King, Adele Johnson, Vera Scott, and Beatrice Thomas, two brothers in-law; John Farmer and Ali Umar, a sister in-law Gail Hutchinson, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family, in-law's, and friends.

Besides his parents, Sharif was predeceased by his grandparents, Henry King, Victoria H. King, Joseph and Inez Thomas, uncle Jamel King, and aunts Victoria King, Sandra Hutchinson, Sheryl Diane Wilson, and Sharon Thomas.
