Mr. Michael "Mike" Allen Scott, 51, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Monday October 22, 2018.

Michael was born February 2, 1967 in Waterbury a son to Dorothy Mae (Bogues) Scott of Wolcott and the late John Henry Scott, Sr.

He was educated in the Wolcott and Waterbury School Systems, Mike graduated from Alcott Middle School and W.F. Kaynor Technical High School with a concentration in plumbing. Since graduation, Mike was a member of Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters and was truly loyal to his trade. He was a master of plumbing, but also a jack of all trades lending his support to many in need in whatever way he could. A lifetime member of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church, Mike served dutifully as an acolyte during his pre-teen and teenage years. He was an entrepreneur and land owner. Many in Waterbury remember him best for his enterprises along the North Main Street corridor and in the Walnut Orange Walsh neighborhood. From the clothing and sundries store on Walnut street, to The Corner Grocery and Spot on North Main, to The Spot II, and the many apartment units he rented and maintained throughout the neighborhood; Mike was known as a caring, funny, creative man about town. Mikes own house became home away from home and refuge for many. Providing a space and place to get a meal or off the street, he was generous in spirit and will be sorely missed.

Besides his mother Dorothy, he leaves to mourn his passing, children, Sabrina Scott-Lorestil (Jean Richkard) of Richmond VA and Phillip Michael Allen Scott of Las Vegas NV. Also Brothers and Sisters - Charles Scott of Waterbury, Janette Scott of Waterbury, Banita Brewer (John) of Waterbury, John Scott Jr. of New Haven, Willie Scott of Waterbury, Elner Morrell (Randy) of Prospect, Annie Scott of Waterbury, Rosemarie Wallace (Lewis) of Danbury, Christopher Scott (Jennifer) of Wolcott, and Andre Scott of Waterbury. Uncle Mike is also survived by nephews and nieces - Jeff, Marc, Charles, Kelsie, John, Trivon, Kylle, Samuel, Joseph, Alexander, Gwendolyn, Jay, Marissa, Julianna, and Sierra, and extended family by blood and by personal affiliation. In addition to family Mike leaves numerous friends to mourn his loss. He was predeceased by one brother, Samuel D. Scott.
