Mr. Michael A. Kirkland, 57, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, June 8, 2019, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Mr. Kirkland was born October 29, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA, a son, to the late James and Sarah (Beamon) Kirkland.

Michael was educated in the New Jersey and Waterbury School Systems, graduating from Wilby High School in 1979. After graduation, he worked at various jobs including Manufacturing and Ideal Meat Market, where he was well known and worked for many years. His most recent employer was New Haven Provision Company in East Haven, CT. He was good with his hands. If you give him a hammer and a screwdriver and he could fix anything. Michael enjoyed reading, spending time with his nieces and nephews, as well as his great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his best friends; James Woods, William Coleman, and his movie buddy Elaine Stackowicz, and all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Kirkland leaves to cherish his memories four sisters, Deborah (Kirkland) Hunter of NC, Karen (Raymond) Rivera of Knightdale, NC, Donna and Pamela Kirkland both of Waterbury, seven nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.
