Mr. Melvin Chisholm Sr., 77, of Windy Drive, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Mary (Mobley) Ware Chisholm.

Mr. Chisholm was born January 17, 1940 in Georgetown, SC a son to the late William and Amelia (Limes) Chisholm.

Melvin, "Dirty Goat" as he was affectionately known was educated in South Carolina before entering the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. He worked for many years as an Auto Body Mechanic and also a Connecticut State Trooper. Melvin was a member of Mason belonging to Meridian Lodge #93 of New York and was a NYC Golden Globe Boxer. He enjoyed listening and talking on the CB Radio and playing pool. He was a quiet, mild mannered person who loved his family.

Besides his wife Mary, he leaves to cherish his memory, three sons; Wayne Beathea of Norwalk, CT, Anthony Beathea of Darien, CT, Melvin Jerome Chisholm Jr. of Waterbury, one
daughter; Antoinette Kelley of Waterbury, stepchildren; Barbara Hobbs, James Ware and Victor Ware of North Carolina, Audrey Jackson and Trisha Hawkins of Georgia, one brother; Nathaniel Chisholm, one sister; Loretta Chisholm, thirty eight grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, William Chisholm Jr., Eugene A Chisholm, stepdaughter Lois Ware, grandchildren, Shawn Chisholm, Sharon Chisholm and Samone Metz.
