Mrs. Mary Emma (Brown) McClary, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was the widow of Mr. Willie McClary.
Mrs. McClary was born in Kingstree South Carolina on April 28, 1935 to Albert and Viola (Dukes) Brown.
Mary relocated to Connecticut in 1956 to Stamford before moving to Waterbury in 1969 where she resided until her passing. She was a homemaker who spent her life raising her children. Mary loved to cook and was and excellent cook who enjoyed cooking for her family. Mary was a very private person who always kept to herself. She was an avid reader and had a large collection of novels especially history. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. McClary is survived by daughters; Isabelle (Eugene) McKinney of Waterbury; Wilhelmina Saunders of Waterbury, Mary Ann Dunbar of Wolcott, Roberta (Eldred Brian) Gibbs of Waterbury, sons; Kenny McClary of New Britain, Freddie McClary of Orlando Florida and Theodore McClary of Middletown, son in law; Anthony Ronnie Howard of Waterbury grandchildren; Almarie Watson, James McKinney, Jr., Janine McKinney, Ernest McClary, Christopher McClary, Joseph Dunbar, Jr., Stacey Morrison, Jermaine Dunbar, Garrett Gibbs, Shawn Gibbs, Jason Gibbs, Samarra Hoss, Mitch Little, Torrin Howard, Tyrique Howard and her adopted granddaughter, Victoria Butler as well as fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great child. She was predeceased by daughter Shirley Howard, sons Willie McClary Jr. and Larry Darnell McClary.
Calling hour 10am, service 11am, Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Chapel Memorial Funeral Home, 35-37 Grove Street, Waterbury.
