Mr. Malcolm Gunthorpe, 75, of Highland Ave, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Gunthorpe was born March 19, 1943 in Great Falls, SC a son to the late Horace and Odessa (Clinton) Gunthorpe Butler.

He moved to Waterbury as a youngster where he attended Driggs School then relocating to SC where he graduated from Elizabeth Heights High School in Great Falls, SC. Later in life he relocated back to Waterbury where he resided until his passing. Prior to his illness, he was an avid pool player winning numerous awards and trophies. He was an avid Yankees but he also enjoyed all sports. Malcolm was a quiet man who loved spending time with his family and also loved spending time alone. His kind spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Malcolm leaves to cherish his memory his only daughter; Youkisha Eza Woodbury of Georgetown, SC, one brother; Willie (Doris) Gunthorpe of Waterbury, three sisters; Mary Carolene Roberts of Waterbury, Mildred Butler of Columbia, SC, Betty Evans of Greensboro, NC, one uncle; Henry Clinton of Manhattan, NY, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers; Edward Gunthorpe, James Bennet and one sister, Louise Maultsby.
