Mr. Linwood "Hump" Hathaway, 70, of Kay Lane, passed away on Saturday, April 4th 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Mr. Hathaway was born in Gatesville, NC, October 28, 1949, a son to the late Otis Hathaway and Mildred (Arline) (Hathaway) Sears.

Mr. Hathaway was educated in the Gates County School System. He was employed at, Papers Delivery Company, as a driver for 10 years and Chase Brass for over 20 years. "Hump" was an outgoing, energetic person. He loved to be around his family and friends, cooking fish, and making his favorite, ham hocks and potatoes. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters; Karen Hathaway of North Hollywood, CA, Angela Hathaway of Los Angeles, CA, Christina Hathaway of Colton, CA, and Margaret Hathaway of Salisbury, NC, three sisters; Carol Thompson of Harrodsburg, KY, Alice Hathaway and Bertha Hathaway of Portsmouth, VA, two brothers; David Hathaway of Portsmouth, VA and Junior Hathaway of Waterbury, CT, an aunt; Georgia (Eugene) Askew of Portsmouth, VA, 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by three brothers; Macksy J. Hathaway, Otis E. Hathaway, and Clarence Hathaway, and one sister; Mary Savage.
