Mrs. Lillie Mae Johnson, 87, departed this life Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Mr. Elmore Johnson.

Lillie was born on March 4, 1930 in Jacksonville, NC to the late Herbert and Avie (Rhodes) Canady.

She was educated in the North Carolina school system before moving to Waterbury. She relocated here in her early 20's and resided here until her passing. Sister Johnson accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1996, and until her illness was a longstanding member of Christ C.M.E. Church of Waterbury, CT
In her early years, Lillie was employed by Chase Brass, Pratt & Whitney, Scovill's Manufacturing as a machine operator. Later on in life, she answered the call to serve the elderly as a Home Health Aide before retiring in 1990. In her leisure, she enjoyed socializing, cooking, and spending time with her family. What she enjoyed most and was best at, was helping others. What she will be remembered most for is "Helping Others". She was a loving, giving and cheerful person. She was full of joy and laughter. Lillie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons; James White, David White, and Louis Canady; three daughters, Lauren Bridges, Barbara Munn, and Gwendolyn Munn; her grandchildren: Danita, Dwayne, David III, & Davin White; Sequan, Shayna, Ezekiel, and Sashee Canady, Robert "Squirt", Terrell, Davon Munn; and Sylvester Walker Jr., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by beloved brothers; Mack, Thomas, Herbert Jr, and Douglas Canady, sisters; Vera Williams, Nora White, and Lola "Peaches" Canady, two grandchildren; Duane White and David "Pookie". White Jr.
