Mr. Eugene L. Dildy Sr., 83, of Porter Street, passed away, Tuesday June 7, 2016 at St. Mary's Vitas Hospice. He was the widower of Mrs. Vandell (Franklin) Dildy.

Mr. Dildy was born May 7, 1933 in Gatesville, NC a son to the late Walter Roberts Sr. and Vivian Dildy.

He relocated to Waterbury, in 1956 where he resided until his passing.
In his earlier years, Mr. Dildy worked Alloy Foundry, Eastern Metals and Rexam of Torrington where he retired after many years of service. Eugene was a long time member of Zion Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking, playing video games, poker and card games. Mr. Dildy was a family man, who enjoyed family gatherings, cookouts, joking and laughing with his family and friends. Eugene loved to cook, his specialty was collard greens. He was also known for his favorite saying "Y'all Don't Listen". He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children; Eugene L. Dildy Jr., Walter Dildy, Agnes Diane Dildy and Vandle Dildy all of Waterbury, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one sister; Thelma Gary of Waterbury, several nieces, nephews, cousins extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Ida (Arline) Dildy, one brother Luis Roberts, two sisters, Gaye Wade and Carletta Dildy.
