Mrs. Erma (Savage) Kerr, 88, of Prospect, passed away Tuesday May 31, 2016 at Vitas Hospice Care of St. Mary's Hospital. She was widow of her beloved husband, Dawson Kerr Jr.

Daughter Kerr was born in Damascus, Maryland, September 25, 1927, daughter of the late Robert and Nicie (Ziegler) Lyles.

Erma worked for New Opportunities for Waterbury OIC Program for over 20 years. She was a long time member of A.M.E. Zion Methodist Church and also a member of Clock City Temple #895 where she was past Grand Daughter Ruler.

Mrs. Kerr is survived by seven loving children, Louis (Patricia) Savage of Baltimore, MD, Connie V. Pope of Waterbury, Carol (Sylvester) Williams of Prospect, Leonard (Cheryl) Savage of Waterbury, Richard (Susan) Savage of Waterbury, Ronald (Yvette) Savage of Windsor and Angela (Kent) Ford of Naugatuck, one special daughter; Joyce Smith, of Windsor, CT whom she treated as her own, one sister; Robyn Fleming, one brother; Avon Freeman, both of Baltimore, MD, one sister-in-Law; Martha Lewis, of Meriden, CT, eighteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
