Dorothea "Dort" "Dorothy" Trueheart, 61, of West Haven, formerly of Waterbury passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 16, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Dorothea "Dort" "Dorothy" Trueheart, 61, was born on August 8, 1956 in Waterbury, CT to the late William and Helen (Gary) Trueheart.

Dorothea graduated from Wilby High School and attended Naugatuck Valley Community College. She loved to do crossword puzzles and play Scrabble. She loved her "salt" as she would cook for family and friends. She loved to party and go the beach with her grandchildren. Dorothea was an Army Veteran. She adored her dog "King" he was Dort's bestfriend. Her family meant the world to her especially her children and grandchildren. She liked to spend time with family and enjoyed family get togethers.

Her life will forever be cherished by her children: Jette Trueheart and William Trueheart both of Waterbury; sisters, Sharon L. Barnes and Helen "Eileen" White of Waterbury; brothers, Kenneth Trueheart of Waterbury and Keith Trueheart of Jackson, MS; three grandchildren: Rahiem Cordero, Amir Sumler of Waterbury and Aaliyah Trueheart of Torrington; sister-in-law, Mamie Trueheart of Waterbury.

She will be truly missed by all that loved and knew her.

She is predeceased in death by sisters, Patricia Williams and Donna (Trueheart) Hunter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
