Mrs. Deborah A. (Smith) Coleman was born on July 4, 1954 in Farmville, North Carolina to the late pastor Elder Lester, Sr. and Esther (Roberson) Smith. Deborah was the widow of Albert L. Coleman.

Deborah moved to Waterbury, Connecticut with her parents and siblings at the age of eight years old. She was educated in the Waterbury School system and was employed at Southbury Training School, and Neopearl as a machine operator and later retired. Deborah loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She participated on the usher board at her church and also participated on the praise team singing her favorite song "I Still Got Joy".

Deborah leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Jennifer Smith of Hamden and Monique Smith of Waterbury; one son-in-law, Linwood Langs of Hamden, CT; four grandchildren, Evan Smith of Waterbury, Shania, DaJon, and TyQwan Langs, all of Hamden; four sisters; Ethel Lumpkin of North Haven, CT, Betty Damon, Melba Smith Grant, and Cynthia Smith, all of Waterbury; three brothers; Kenneth Smith, Earl Smith, both of Waterbury, and Samuel Newton of North Carolina, four aunts; Ella Pearl Roberson of Waterbury, Mary Chanel Smith, Lois Joyner, both of North Carolina, and Rosa Lee Smith, five sisters-in law; Cecelia Dunbar, Meruiel Coleman, both of Arizona, Wanda Dunbar, Caroline Roberson both of Waterbury, and Deborah Coleman of New Haven; three brothers-in-law; Ronald Coleman of Atlanta, GA, Michael Coleman of Waterbury, and Aaron Coleman of California, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Deborah was pre-deceased by one sister Dorothy Smith; and two brothers, Lester Smith Jr. and Leon Smith.
