Mr. David Gatling, 72, of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020, from an unfortunate accident. He was the widow of Louise (Burrus) Gatling.

Mr. Gatling was born May 1, 1948, in Waterbury, CT. a son to the late Jimmie Lee and Winnifred (Gatling) Blash Sr.

David was educated in the Waterbury Public School System. He worked various jobs. He most recently worked at McDonalds, where he worked for many years. He was also employed at New Opportunities of Waterbury working with the "Meals on Wheels" program. During his life, Mr. Gatling attended many churches but became a member of Grace Baptist Church of Waterbury. David was an avid sports enthusiast. He was competitive when it came to boxing, baseball, and football. He will surely be missed.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his children; David (Phyllis) Coleman of Waterbury, CT., Cathy Simmons Harrison of Opelika, AL, Christopher Gatling of Florence, SC and stepson Tyrone (Monique) Coleman of Waterbury, CT., siblings; Martin L. Gatling, Irving F. Blash, Winnona L. Blash, and Mary E. Blash, all of Waterbury, CT., several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers; Kenneth L. Gatling and Jimmie Lee Blash Jr.
