Mrs. Christine Virginia (Ricks) Jones, 85, our matriarch, passed away quietly, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of William "Buddy" Jones.

"Tine" or "Mama Jones" as she was affectionately called was born January 27, 1932 in Nashville, NC a daughter to the late Richard Walter and Louisiana (Pridgeon) Ricks.

At the age of 17 she met the man who in 1950 would become her husband of 68 years, William "Buddy' Jones. In 1957 they along with their three eldest children, Michael, William Jr. and Juanita relocated to New Haven where they welcomed a 4th child Bernard Jones where they worked and raised their family. Mama extended her love so much that she adopted her grandchildren, Antonio Santos Jr., Hellana Virginia Bradley, Tiesheka Sanders, Juanita Marie Jones and Diamond Jones. Christine worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for many years. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, going to the casino, cooking and spending time with and molding the lives of her children, grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, "Buddy" she is survived by one daughter; Juanita Jones, two sons; William Jones Jr. and Bernard Jones, sixteen grandchildren, fifty one great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren, one sister Beatrice (Roger Lee) Jones, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by one son; Michael Aaron Jones, one sister; Odessa Ricks, two brothers; Walter Phillip Ricks and Robert Ricks.

Mama Jones touched the lives of everyone she met. So as we gather and mourn her passing today keep in your hearts all the great memories, her smile, hearty laugh, generosity and most of all, her love for her family.
