Mrs. Carrie "Tootsie" Brown, 82, of 25 Abbott Terrace entered eternal rest on Saturday April 28, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital, after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.

Carrie was born August 16, 1936 in Franklin County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late George and Mary Lou (Debnam) Glover.

She was educated in the NC public school system and relocated to Waterbury in 1961 where she resided until her passing. Carrie Affectionately known as "Tootsie" to family and friends worked as a domestic in her early year. Tootsie also worked for various companies in Waterbury and surrounding areas until her retirement.

After retirement Tootsie became a homemaker and caregiver for her family. She enjoyed watching TV, and was an avid Law & Order and Andy Griffin Show fan. She truly loved her family and enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family and friends, she always put others, needs before her own. Tootsie was a long time member of Zion Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail. Tootsie was a caring and loving person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her husband James Brown, she leaves to cherish her memories one sister Shirley G. Lewis of Franklinton, NC: two sister-in-law; Bertha Gibson of Portsmith, VA and Elizabeth Brown of Waterbury, CT. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom brought her much happiness.

She was pre deceased by six sisters; Elsie G. Davis, Pauline G. Dunston, Ester G. Parrish, Louvina G. Williamson, Frances G. Thomas, and Betty G. Burton; and two brothers Chester Glover and James Glover.
