Mr. Bruce E. Pope, 60 of Cherry Avenue, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Pope was born August 23, 1957 in Waterbury a son to the late Borum and Dorothy (Prather) Pope.

Bruce was educated in the Waterbury school system where he was a graduate of W.F. Kaynor Technical High School. He worked for various companies in the area including New Opportunities where he worked in receiving and also assisted individuals who were applying for assistance through programs at New Opportunities. He enjoyed going to the library, watching sports and playing dominoes. He loved his family and children and spent a lot of time talking to, teaching and guiding the children in his life. Bruce was a very happy soul who loved to make people laugh. He was all about Love, Peace and Happiness.

Bruce is survived by two sons; Terance Lee Pope, Timothy Tyron Pope both of Waterbury, Tamika Pope Castillo of NC, five grand children; Alaysha Pope, Brandon Pope both of Waterbury, Brynn Destin, Jac Castillo, Jon Castillo all of NC, two sisters; Clara Ireland of Waterbury, Beverly Pope White of PA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by one son Bruce E. Pope Jr., two brothers; Benny Prather, Bernard Bobby Pope, one sister Bora Mae.
