Ms. Brenda Lovera Barnes 52, of Bridgeport, formerly of Danbury, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

Brenda was born on March 5, 1965 in Danbury a daughter to Nathaniel Ward of Danbury and the late Ann E. Barnes.

Brenda was educated in the Danbury Public School system. She was a fun, loving and caring child. She loved music especially Reggae and gospel. She loved to dance especially to Reggae music. Brenda was always the life of the party who enjoyed cooking and helping others in any way that she could. Brenda resided in Bridgeport until her passing where she attended Restoration Family Christian Center and was also a volunteer at the Goodwill in Bridgeport. She worked in management at McDonalds and Burger King and also Allied Health Resources as a P.C.A. Even through the hard times in life her love for her children was never doubted. A great listener she was and never judgmental. Brenda will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children; Tiffany Barnes of Bridgeport, Deondra Barnes, Elbion Barnes, Eltesha Barnes all of Danbury and Eltaquan Barnes-Calli of California, one brother; Thomas E Barnes of Danbury, two sisters; Natalie Ward of Danbury and Myra Jones of Stamford CT, adopted brothers; Glen Barnes and Roosevelt Barnes of Hamden, CT George Barnes, Russell Barnes, Allen Barnes, Frankie Barnes all of Danbury, adopted sisters; Mary Pettaway of Conetoe, NC and Gloria Barnes of Danbury, eight grandchildren; Chanya Barnes, Syncere Barnes, A'shiya Erskine, Mazi McClain, Ahmirrah Curtis, Ellionna Ortiz, Nia and Nyree Johnson, one great granddaughter; Genesis Evans, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her adoptive parents Roosevelt and Bonnie Barnes and adopted sister Anna Barnes.
