Beryl Darcy (Lawrence) Jacobs, 66, of McComb, MS, formerly of Waterbury, passed away, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in New York, after a long illness.

Darcy was born September 29, 1951 in Waterbury, CT daughter of the late Rev. Ernest and Elizabeth (Swain) Lawrence.

"Doc" as she was affectionately known was a graduate of Crosby High School. Since her childhood, Darcy was an avid reader especially of novels. At her death she was employed at the McComb, MS school system as a substitute school teacher which she enjoyed. She spent a great deal of her time with family and friends. Although she wasn't close in proximity, she was in close communication. She was a good listener and caring counselor when one needed someone to help sort out life's difficulties. She had strong convictions and could sure engage you in a heated debate. She enjoyed playing games online that she thought helped to keep her mind sharp. Darcy had a great sense of humor. She loved coffee with a coconut crumb donut.

She was the devoted mother of Mariya Lawrence, significant other of many years, Larry Robinson of McComb, MS, beloved sister of Eleanor Thomas and Jennifer Hughes of New Haven, Portia Lawrence of Atlanta, GA, beloved brothers Henson Lawrence Ernest Blue, Earl (Delores) Lawrence and of Waterbury, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by one sister, Linda Brooks.
