Pastor Annie R. (Herbert) Brown, 86, of Bishop Street, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 25, 2018

Annie was born September 29, 1931 in Saulda, SC a daughter to the late Nero and Florence (Weaver) Herbert.

She was educated in the South Carolina school system where she was a graduate of Higgin School. In 1951 Annie relocated to Waterbury where she resided until her passing. In her earlier years she worked at Eagle Lock in Terryville along with various companies in the Waterbury and surrounding areas. Mrs. Brown continue d her education and received her certification as a CAN. She worked at the Waterbury VNA for over thirty years until her retirement in 1997. After her retirement she continued her passion for caring and continued to work as a home health companion. Mrs. Brown loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. She was the Pastor of Emmanuel F.B.H Church in Waterbury until her retirement and continued her ministering until 2017. Annie Ruth as she was affectionately known was a very outspoken but in such a way. She loved her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking for her family and her favorites were a down home southern Sunday dinner. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to mourn her passing one son; C. Richard (Jannise) Herbert of Dallas, NC, three daughters; Jinnie (Sam) Wright, Katherine (William) Leach all of Waterbury and Mary L. Jordan of East Hartford, CT, eighteen grandchildren, a host of great grand children, great great grandchildren, two brothers; Andrew Herbert of Meriden, CT and Robert "PNut" Herbert of Waterbury, one sister; Bettye Adamson of Lugo, SC, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by one son, Ernest E. Jordan, two brothers; Johnny Abney and Leroy Herbert.
