Mr. Abraham Digsby, 89, of Dikeman Street, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019. He was the widower of Magdeline (Stephens) Digsby.

Mr. Digsby was born on June 5, 1930, in Free Hill, St. Mary, Jamaica a son to the late Earnest Digsby and Ethlyn Reid.

Mr. Digsby came to Waterbury in the 1980's where he resided until his passing. Throughout his life he worked as farmworker for many years, a nurse's assistant and lastly the Torrington Company in Waterbury where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of Shalom S.D.A. Church in Waterbury, where he served as a Deacon for several years. Mr. Digsby was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed cooking, baking, playing dominoes and playing cricket. He was a very quiet and soft spoken man. He loved his grand and great grandchildren who were the joy of his life. He would always lend a helping hand and was always available to help anyone in need. Mr. Digsby had a great sense of humor with no filter. He was a great man who truly loved his family. Little did we know that after tucking you in your bed that night, God planned on calling your name. In life, we loved you dearly and we do the same in death.

Abraham is survived by Nine children; Charles (Eileen) Digsby of Waterbury, Dorothy (Newton) Wedderburn of New Jersey, Thelma (Basil) Richards of Sebring, FL, Headley (Opal) Digsby of St. Mary, Jamaica, Patrica (Clifford ) Medder of Clermont, FL, Leary Digsby of Bridgeport, CT, Dorrette (Victor) Daley of Wellington, FL, Donnett (Byron) Bunting of Southington, CT and Olga Digsby of Bridgeport, CT, three sisters; Monica McNeil of Acworth, GA, Greta Hibbert, Carmeta Mckai, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, thirty one grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
