Mrs. Juanita C. Wright, 89, of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at Waterbury Hospital.

Mrs. Wright was born on October 24, 1930 in Franklin, VA, a daughter to the late Samuel and Fannie (Council) Cross.

Juanita was in the Virginia Public School System. "Big Momma", as she was so affectionately called, worked at Anaconda for over 20 years, until her retirement. She was the Church Mother of Victory Christian Center, under the leadership of Pastor Tillery. "Gram" or "Skeet" as she was also known as, loved to crochet, draw, and complete word puzzles. She was known for baking her delicious pound cake and chocolate cake. She was a quiet, loving, and God-fearing woman that would help anyone in need. She had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by everyone that loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter; Dorothy James of Waterbury, CT, two sons; Wilburt (Jean) Wright of Waterbury, CT and Vernon Files of Windsor, VA, four grandchildren; Michael Whitehead of Franklin, VA, Antwon Wright of Bristol, CT, Sonyia Booker who is in the U.S. Army, and Briona Williams of Waterbury, CT, four great-grandchildren; Isaiah Samboy, Kimora Henry, and Skai Williams all of Waterbury, CT and Mycheal Whitehead of Franklin, VA, three sisters; Bernice Wright of Waterbury, CT, Jessie Murphy of Riverdale MD, Jerrinus Cross of Washington, DC, and Cynthia Praham of Franklin, VA, one brother; Joe Nathan Cross of Franklin, VA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons; Milton "Brion" Wright and Rudolph "Rudy" Wright.

My thought and prayers are with my family. We all must carry on her legacy for the love of God, family and people. To express the joy and laughter which had always been a part of her. On Sunday, we lost someone special that was loved in so many ways; a person who brought so much joy and happiness each and mevery day. We will always have our memories to remind us of her love, knowing she will always be there watching from above. We love you Aunt Juanita!
