Ms. Maready M. chapman, 75, of Naugatuck, passed away on Thursday April 9, 2020, at Beacon Brook Health Center, surrounded by her children. She was the widow of James Flaxs.

Ms. Chapman was born July 8, 1944 in Jacksonville, NC, daughter of the late Hallie chapman and Mary Ali.

Maready was educated in the North Carolina School System before relocating to New York where she continued her education. She was a member of Refuge Church of Christ where she sang in various choirs, including the Senior Choir. She also sung in the Lester Singers, and Heavenly Echoes. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her children and friends. She was a praying woman and would always pray for and with her family and friends, as well as feed them. Maready loved the Lord and found peace in reading and studying the bible.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters; Dawnn and Monica Chapman, both of Waterbury, CT, her only granddaughter; Lyric Cardoza, sister in Christ; Dora Zimmerman, Godson; Rudy Williams, Goddaughter; Stephanie Lard, and a host of family and friends.
She was predeceased by a sister; Annette Chapman, and a brother; Charles Chapman.

A celebration of life will be announced by her family at a later date.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I was deeply saddened to hear of Mays passing but I rejoice because I know she is in heaven with our Lord Jesus. It was a great honor and pleasure to care for the 7 months I worked at Beacon Brooke. We had special moments of prayer together and the Jesus in her shines through always. My deepest sympathy to her family and dearest friends.

I'm sorry for your loss. She will be missed . She was special. I could stay and talk about anything with her for hours. I would end my shift in that room so many nights. I remember putting pandora and wifi on her phone at least once a week so she could listen to music. Her face would light up when the music came on. I feel blessed to have known her.
