Message From The Family

The Lamb family would like to thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Phyllis by adding your memories and photos.

Phyllis L. Lamb, 94, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Wolcott View Manor, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Alonzo A. Lamb.

Phyllis was born October 25, 1925, in Waterbury, a daughter to the late Weldon and Nettie (Clapp) Foust.

Mrs. Lamb was educated in the Waterbury Public School System. She worked various jobs and retired from both Scovill and Airpax. Phyllis was a member of the Gaydetts Social Club, which was famous for their yearly dances and charitable events. She was also a member of the Goodwill Lodge of Elks and a leader of the Jr. Elks girl's Youth Drum Corps Marching Band. Being the youngest of her siblings, Phyllis was "hugely" popular with some of her "close in age" nieces and nephews and then became a "favorite aunt" of her younger nieces and nephews. She was also known for her cooking skills; especially baking; her pies and cakes are legendary. Another specialty was her Lasagna which was often requested. She loved flowers and kept a bouquet of fresh flowers on her dining room table. Phyllis was an avid "fisher lady" fishing off the Long Island Sound from March thru November. She will be missed.

She is survived by her son, William H Davis, Jr. of Fitchburg, MA., daughters, Sandra Lamb of Mount Vernon, NY and Gail Lamb, Waterbury, one sister, Evelyn Harris of Waterbury; nine grandchildren, Scott Hester, William H. Davis III, Lisa Campo, Kimberly Clements, Charlotte Davis, Antonio (Tony) Wright, Wilson Matthew Lamb, Tishawna Morel and Stephanie Blount; 15 great grandchildren, 15 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by five siblings, Sylvia Foust, Frank Foust, Ermine Killebrew, Marguerite Holman and Alice Evans.
