Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

The family of Grace Jobe would like to thank you for your support during this difficult time.

Mrs. Grace E. Jobe, 90, of 49 Elmwood Ave, passed away on January 16, 2020. She was the widow of Charles Jobe.

Grace was born September 22, 1929, in Gatesville, North Carolina, a daughter to Willie and Dolly "Baby" (Hurdle) Hoffler.

Grace was educated in the North Carolina school system and attended Booker T Washington High School. In the 1950s, Grace came to Waterbury, CT, where she resided until her passing. She worked at various jobs including Uniroyal for 9 years and Sherwood Medical for 8 years. Not only did she work, but she gave her time and life to God. She was the Choir Director of the Busy Bees at Way of the Cross Church, ushered at the Evangelistic Caravan Center for many years, and became one of the beloved mothers at Agape Faith Church of Restoration of Waterbury CT.

Mother Jobe was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of a lot of people. She enjoyed doing the Lord's work by spreading the love of God. Grace was truly the definition of Gods' helper. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and go above and beyond to help anyone in need. She was a humanitarian who delivered bread to the hungry and the homeless every Friday. Her family was important to her. She loved each and every one. Grace loved her independence and loved to drive and would always be on the go. She was a spectacular cook and was always spreading her love through her cooking, from Sunday dinners at her house, to selling dinner plates. Grace was a real blessing to everyone that knew her. She will be missed.

Grace is survived by five children: Margie Goodman of Waterbury, Nadine Jobe of South Carolina, Gaynel (Jonathan) Jackson, Melissa Kemp Iverson, and Ryan Jobe all of Waterbury CT, a sister; Eva McWilliams of Waterbury CT, a daughter In-Law; Sharon Cash Jobe, seven grandchildren: Thaddeus Goodman, Crystal Goodman, Jose Goodman, Tammy, Chris, Muffin, Crashaw, 20 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, god daughters, god sons, church family, and friends.
