Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Lillian by adding your memories and photos.

Mrs. Lillian (Jefferson) Watson, 76, of Shagbark Rd, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 peacefully at her home. She was the widow of Eddie Watson.

Mrs. Watson was born August 30, 1941 in Waterbury a daughter to the late Harry and Inez (Jones) Jefferson.

Lillian was educated in the Waterbury public school system where she was a graduate of Wilby High School. Early on she became a Foster Parent. Throughout her life she became the mother to many. She was the most generous, loving, joyous giving person. She loved to cook. She would give a meal to anyeone in need. She would say "never turn anyone away hungry". Mrs. Watson was a longtime member of Mt. Olive AME Zion Church where she served as a Pastor's Aid President, Morning Choir President. She was very active in the Foster Care Program where she would host classes for Connecticut Department of Children and Families. In her free time, she loved to shop. She loved to dress and look nice. She was known to never or almost never wear the same outfit twice. She was stern when she needed to be but gentle at the same time. She didn't have to raise her voice because the "look" spoke volume. Her wisdom was phenominal. She knew what to do in every situation. This amazing woman will be truly missed by the countless people whose lives she touched.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter; Lisa (Watson) Gaynes of Waterbury, one son; Charles Watson, a host of foster children, eleven grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by son Timothy Watson and daughter, Carol (Watson) Schiavo.
