Mrs. Maxine Davis Obituary

Mrs. Maxine Marie (Askew) Davis, 78, of Bishop Street, passed away after a long illness, on Sunday, July 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Davis was born in Waterbury, on March 25, 1941, a daughter to the late Wesley and Francina (Bostic) Askew Sr.

Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and was educated in the Waterbury Public School System, graduating from Wilby High School. She was employed at Infodex, The Avon Company, as an assembler, until the closing of that plant, and Shorewood Packaging, for over 10 years, as an assembler, until her retirement. Maxine was a true worker for our Heavenly Father and was a very uplifting person. She truly had a heart of gold and touched many lives, hearts, and souls. She was very caring and a was the neighborhood advocate for misguided youth and was always open to give them direction and encouragement. She spoke her mind and she didn't "give a ****" if you didn't like it. She gave love to many, as well as a warm plate if someone needed it. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, social gatherings, and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her five sons; Ronnie (Lucinda) Askew of Tampa FL, Deacon Gaston (LaToya) Ireland, Willie J. Davis Jr. and his longtime companion Tina St. Pierre, Robert Davis, John (Alexis) Davis and one daughter; Sharon Davis, all of Waterbury, one loving and dedicated niece, Robin Lavette Bostic of Spokane Washington, three loving and faithful nephews, Raymond Askew of New Haven, CT, Christopher Askew of Tampa, FL, and Joseph Bostic of Spokane, Washington, a Great niece, Kendra Tripp, 26 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Marlion "Kibbie" Bostic Sr., Wesley "Tot" Askew Jr., and Edward "Eddie" Ronzoni Askew.
